Editorial Policy:
Authors should prepare their manuscripts submitted to the JPPCM exactly according to the instructions given below. Manuscripts which do not follow the format and style of the journal returned to the authors for revision or rejected. The JPPCM reserves the right to make any further formal changes and language corrections if necessary in a manuscript accepted for publication to meet JPPCM requirements.

Editorial Process:
A manuscript will be reviewed for possible publication with the understanding that it is being submitted to JPPCM only at that time and has not been published anywhere, simultaneously submitted, or already accepted for publication elsewhere. The journal expects that authors would authorize one of them to correspond with the Journal for all matters related to the manuscript. All manuscripts received are duly acknowledged. On submission, editors review all submitted manuscripts initially for suitability for formal review. Manuscripts with insufficient originality, serious scientific or technical flaws, or lack of a significant message are rejected before proceeding for formal peer-review and if not its under journal scope.

Manuscripts that are found suitable for publication in JPPCM are sent to two expert reviewers. During submission, the corresponding author is requested to provide names of two qualified reviewers who have had experience in the field of the submitted manuscript (not mandatory). The reviewers should not be affiliated with the same institutes as the authors. However, the selection of these reviewers is at the sole discretion of the editor. The journal follows a double-blind review process, wherein the reviewers and authors are unaware of each other’s identity. Every manuscript is also assigned to a member of the editorial member, who based on the comments from the reviewers takes a final decision on the manuscript. The comments and suggestions received from reviewers are sending to the corresponding author. If required, the author is requested to provide a point by point response to reviewers’ comments and submit a revised version of the manuscript within specified time. This process is repeated till reviewers and editors are satisfied with the manuscript.

Manuscripts accepted for publication are copy edited for grammar, punctuation, print style, and format. The whole process of submission of the manuscript to final decision and sending and receiving proofs is completed online. To achieve faster and greater dissemination of knowledge and information, the journal publishes articles online as ‘In Press’ with 2-4 weeks on acceptance.

Plagiarism Policy:
When journal receives manuscript initially goes to screened for suitability for formal review, if manuscript found suitable than first goes to plagiarism check. A minor short section of found plagiarized we request to authors to change the text and resubmit to journal again.
In case, any attempt of plagiarism is brought to our attention accompanied with convincing evidence, following steps would be taken:
(1) After consulting the respective Editorial Board Members, authors guilty of plagiarism will be debarred from publishing their papers in JPPCM.
(2) Heads of the Departments/Institutes of the offending authors will be intimated of such incidences of plagiarism.
(3) In case of confirmation of plagiarism on an already published article, the Editor will be obliged to withdraw the article from the journal website.

Authorship Criteria:
Authorship credit should be based only on substantial contributions mentioned here. Concept and design of study or acquisition of data or analysis and interpretation of data. Drafting the article or revising it critically for important intellectual content; and final approval of the version to be published.
Participation solely in the acquisition of funding or the collection of data does not justify authorship. Each contributor should have participated sufficiently in the work to take public responsibility for appropriate portions of the content of the manuscript. The order of naming the contributors should be based on the relative contribution of the contributor towards the study and writing the manuscript. Once submitted the order cannot be changed without written consent of all the coauthors. The journal prescribes a maximum number of authors for manuscripts depending upon the type of manuscript. The authors should provide a justification, if the number of authors exceeds these limits.

Contribution Details:
Contributors should provide a description of contributions made by each of them towards the manuscript. Description should be divided in following categories, as applicable: concept, design, definition of intellectual content, literature search, clinical studies, experimental studies, data acquisition, data analysis, statistical analysis, manuscript preparation, manuscript editing and manuscript review. Authors' contributions will be printed along with the article. Corresponding author should take responsibility for the integrity of the work as a whole from inception to published article and should be designated as guarantor.

Covering Letter:
Disclose all possible conflicts of interest (e.g., funding sources for consultancies or studies of products). A brief indication of the importance of the paper to the field of Pharmacy is helpful in gaining appropriate peer review.

Correct / Acceptable Format

Cancer is defined as a disease in which damaged cells in the body reproduce despite normal restrictions and can spread to other parts of the body, where they invade and colonize territories normally reserved for other cells (Hausman, 2019). Among the different types of cancer, prostate cancer is the fourth most common neoplasia worldwide, according to statistics from the Global Cancer Observatory in 2020 (Sung et al., 2021). Prostate cancer is diagnosed late, as official figures reveal that 70% of diagnosed cases are in an advanced stage, complicating treatment.

For several years, plants have been considered a primary source for the search for new cancer drugs, since currently around 60% of the drugs used in chemotherapy come from natural sources (Alonso-Castro et al., 2011). For this reason, it is necessary to study those medicinal species that do not have previous scientific reports and that are most frequently used in traditional medicine for the treatment of urinary and prostate conditions, to have new candidates for the search for bioactive components (Sánchez-Aguirre et al., 2021).
